Maori Healing Workshop - Melbourne

Only a matter of days to go until the healing workshop and I am amped to say the least. I'm in need of healing myself and also to learn the work myself. This will be extended into my doula work and helping where I can here in Sydney. There is nothing available here in Sydney, so its time to make some waves happen and get things started. Wikitoria Maori Healing is facilitating the workshop in Melbourne on the 13 August and I am privileged to be part of her group. It will be of great benefit to your body and well being and also a way to experience my culture in a totally holistic environment.

Me the Active Thinking Addict

Im not one to admit that I have an addictive mind, but Im sure many people can relate to the addiction of thinking wayyy too much. As much as I try to meditate into a state that allows me to relax and drift in to peaceful sleep, I find it difficult to let go of the excess amount of thoughts. When it comes to unleashing my creative inner, Im unfortunately bound to lose sleep. Im devising and planning, looking at ways to make a haven that I can finally be at peace with. I love making things with my hands and being creative. This is where my happy place is.

I work as an Area Manager for a Government Contracting and Tender Business. Im responsible for all the paper work required to secure a successful tender through the Australian Government. Its a mind draining job, but I love that it burns some of the excess thoughts I keep. I can happily say that when I walk through my door, Im able to leave work there. Only to replace it with my duties as a fiancee and a mother to an active almost 3 year old daughter.

I love what my daughter brings to my life, although there are times when she tests me. We have a mutual understanding that there is to be no tantrums, or demands that I will jump to. Use your words is a common phrase used in my house, I need Miss 2.5 to understand that communication verbally goes a long way. I miss her older siblings though, however I am confident that their father knows what he's doing. Im sure he will only have their best interests at heart, as I do too. Just the distance between me and them needs to be addressed and finalized once and for all.

My finacee is a man that people cant quiet picture me being with. He is a high maintenance kind of guy and I will admit that it drives me nuts. He is younger than me but, this in no way means that I take the dominant role being older. I guide him as best as I can, through learning from my previous mistakes. He is naieve in his thinking and its due to where he is in his life and what he's experienced in his life. While we are chalk and cheese, I love him more passionately and with so much heart, than I have ever loved a man this way. For me thats the glue and the real stuff my passion for things comes from.

I teach him about homebirth, the reason why I choose not to vaccinate, who is as a culture and why I am who I am and best of all. He loves me for me, its pure and without condition. I am such a lucky woman.
